Types of Care
As a BIRTH DOULA, I take time to listen to your birth wishes. We do a complimentary phone call, video chat, or in-person visit to meet. We will discuss dates and details. When your first payment is made, we discuss how you want to continue communicating. I add your date to my calendar and we chat monthly. Throughout the process, I offer unlimited support, suggestions and evidence-based information, understanding medical jargon, and offer options and resources. At 36 weeks, we meet again to review your birth and postpartum plan. If this is an in-home visit, we go over your nursery, how to use the breast pump (if desired), review comfort measures and plan, and look at the logistics of having a newborn in the home. I highly suggest everyone take a childbirth education class and infant feeding/newborn care class. At the time of birth, I join you whenever/wherever you are ready. I will be available for comfort suggestions, help your partner comfort you, advocate for a smooth process, and assist you in communicating with your care providers. After the baby is born, I stay for about an hour and help you get settled. Then, we do a postpartum meeting whenever you are ready to discuss how things went and close out. I accept cash, check, paypal, venmo, payment plans, and bartering. Contact me for pricing.
Maybe you feel comfortable working through labor on your own but need initial support, I also work as a VIRTUAL DOULA. This can look like many things. I have called/texted a husband continuously during labor about what's coming up. I have worked with a client for a few hours helping create a birth and postpartum plan. As a virtual doula, I will support you in the same way as a traditional birth doula, but I will NOT be with you physically during your labor or birth. You have the option to switch to in-person support anytime with an additional fee. Contact me for pricing.

1 in 4 women will experience a pregnancy or infant loss. It is very real, happens more often than you think, and is rarely talked about. All births are births and your needs and wants matter. Take My Hand is the only doula service in the Tri-Cities assisting with loss families. I enable families to pause during a season by assisting in guiding everyday life and becoming vulnerable while families are paralyzed by grief until they can feel some hope and healing.
We wish life was simple and straight-forward, but we know it isn't. Grief isn't linear. It is common to feel anxiety and grief after a loss, even if you are pregnant again. Rainbow babies come with a special spice of life. If a heartbeat can't be found or your body is telling you something is wrong, contact me. No need is to small and sometimes the hardest part is the uncertainty. Maybe talking about the "wait" can make it a little easier. It isn't an inconvenience, even if things turn out fine. Our friends and family have good intentions, but they may mouth the usual platitudes. Feel free to refer them to my Friends & Families page. They are welcome to contact me on suggestions of how they can help. If you need help telling friends and family what is going on with the pregnancy, I am here.
As a BEREAVEMENT DOULA, I serve parents in any outcome, in any trimester. Like a traditional birth doula, I provide physical, emotional and informational support during labor, but have special training in perinatal loss, memory making, and end of life care. We work together to create a plan for working through the birth, meeting baby, making the time together meaningful and memorable, and saying goodbye. That looks different in every situation, but the guide is to give the parents strength for the opportunities to have as little regret as possible. I NEVER charge for any type of bereavement support.

As a POSTPARTUM DOULA, ideally, we will meet during your pregnancy to create a postpartum plan and discuss your desires and concerns for this phase. As with tradition, I by provide emotional support, warm meals, light cleaning/tidying, sibling adjustment, errands, and basic baby care. My most favorite way to "mother the mother" is by creating a plan and assistance with gathering products you will use during your healing time. One postpartum visit is included when I am hired as your birth doula to process the birth experience, how newborn care is going, and how you are healing. We work together to build a schedule of 3-4 hour visits, 2-3 times a week. I charge $25/hour. This can continue as long as you desire.
As a BREASTFEEDING COUNSELOR, I help with evidence based formation, basic troubleshooting, empowerment, and encouragement. When things aren't going well, I can connect you with local resources.
